Working definition
Back in 1987, as a baby, she was diagnosed with autism by her mum. I found that the 1980’s definition of autism did the trick:
Inability to adapt to change
Inability to socialise
Inability to communicate.
Essentially – she was not in our world. We were not in hers.
This meant I had to be the bridge between, and hopefully out for her.
